Contact Cards for Bloggers

June 17, 2015 by Barb 2 Comments

I am in desperate need of some new contact cards.

In September I’ll be travelling to Brandon, Manitoba, Canada to take part in “Finding Stillness|Autumn 2015” with Kim Klassen and about a dozen other creative souls from around the world (insert squeal here) … it feels so surreal …

Among other things, I’ll be participating in 3 days of styling, shooting, and editing still lifes in The Studio (Kim’s new real-life, bricks and mortar studio.) I can hardly type this without getting up and jumping for joy … but it’s a few months away, and instead of jumping around fruitlessly, I need to get prepared.Contact Cards for Bloggers, Keeping With the Times, Finding Stillness Autumn 2015, social print studio, moo, artifact uprising

When I was planning for Blissdom which I attended in November of 2013, I created business cards and had them printed at Costco. Now, nothing against Costco … they did a superb job of printing and delivering my order … it was my design that stunk … truly stunk … in a word … boring.

Not long after, Kim wrote a post about using Instagram photos for contact cards … I was thunderstruck! What an amazing and creative way to share information … one side was printed with a photo from Instagram, and the other side was for contact information such as your blog url, IG feed, Twitter account, email address … etc. It was brilliant. Who’s going to throw away a tiny piece of art? I would hope no-one would be able to bring themselves to do that! I mean, I could randomly sprinkle my cards all over town, sharing my mini-masterpieces and spreading the word about my blog.

When I attended “Gather California” in 2014, I didn’t have any new cards with me and I regretted it wholeheartedly. But not this time. This time I’m going to have plenty of lovely images to help spread the word about Keeping With the Times.

There are many companies that print contact cards: Social Print Studio, Moo, and Artifact Uprising are just a few. I’m doing a bit of research and will be happy to report back when I’ve made my decision and had them printed.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!
