What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Contact forms
This website has a voluntary newsletter subscription (with opt-out instructions) through Mail Chimp. Sent newsletters may contain tracking pixels. These pixels allow us to see if/when you open an email, and any links in the email you may click. This information helps us to create more engaging newsletters by looking at the behaviour of our audience. This information is not passed to third parties. You can opt-out of future communications by following the “unsubscribe link” in our email. You can also e-mail barb@keepingwiththetimes.com to be removed.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
AdSense Ads
Ads on my site are from Google AdSense.
Google uses cookies to help serve the ads it displays on the websites of its partners, such as websites displaying AdSense ads or participating in Google certified ad networks. When users visit a partner’s website, a cookie may be dropped on that end user’s browser.
You can choose to disable or selectively turn off cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security. You can also visit the website mentioned to opt out of the use of cookies for interest-based advertising. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with my site as well as other websites.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Affiliate Programs
At times I use affiliate links in my blog posts and sidebar. Affiliate links are safe links to online stores. If you click on one of my affiliate links, then end up purchasing something from that site, I will receive a small commission. This commission helps to support my blog. I only use affiliate links to sites that I trust, and to products I use and/or love.
Keeping With the Times accepts forms of cash advertising, sponsorship, affiliate links or other forms of compensation.
These are chosen under careful consideration and are companies/brands that we believe in such as:
Stampington & Company
