We’ve been to Hana and back . . .

Alelele Falls

Yes, we did the Hana Highway again but decided to stay in Hana over night so we could really enjoy the trip. This waterfall was the last of many waterfalls on the Hana Highway, and I mean many! We followed the directions in ‘Maui Revealed’ and are quite certain we saw most of the sights. But, at the very last, just when I had almost had enough (oh no, not another waterfall) Don was insistent that we go here. It was a ten minute hike into the jungle and we had to cross a stream which I wasn’t crazy about. But, the teaser in ‘Maui Revealed’ was ‘OK, here’s your last chance to frolic at a waterfall, and it’s a sweet one . . . bring your camera; you’ll really like this one’. Well, he was right! We unanimously voted it THE BEST WATERFALL we saw, and that is saying a lot. I had my trusty tripod so I was able to set a low shutter speed and ended up with my second (in a long line to come) of slo-mo water photography.
