Friday Finds with Kim Klassen

Friday Finds

… and a little sneak preview of my autumn tablescape.

Last Friday I went to the market garden with a friend, where we found all kinds of fabulous veggies, and pumpkins, and squash. As the owner was taking us for a ride in his little ‘gator, and we were tearing around in his fields, I spied a patch with some white “things” way off in the distance. When I asked what they were, he told me that they were some kind of weird squash, just an experiment, and he was going to plow them under.

OK,  wait a minute… take me over there…

As soon as I saw them, my heart did a little leap! How pretty, and how fun are these?! They were just what I was envisioning for my autumn decor. They sparked an idea that led to my autumn tablescape. Warm whites, pinks,  greys, and greens. Love!

I do have some amazing light in my dining room…

Later today I’m going to post my complete tablescape. I’m so thankful that I was able to finish up the photo shoot given the fact that for most of the week I could hardly move. My back has much improved and I am so, so thankful!

Have a wonderful Friday!!

Glad to hear your back is better. Thank goodness!!! I have dealt with a bad back and back spasms for almost 8 years. To ease my back, I sit on a large exercise ball at the computer!! Give it a try the next time your back goes out and you can’t sit!! Beautiful tablescape…I can’t wait to see all of it!! You are such an inspiration!! Love your blog!

Was he convinced he needed to sell a few? They are funky little things. Glad you’re better and back to doing what you love. Can’t wait to see your table.

I’m with you … those white gourds {or whatever} are too pretty to be plowed under. What do farmers know? Love the sparkle on your glass in the dining room although all the photos are beautiful … such great light in each.

OK, I am going to Speak My Mind, I LOVE THESE. :) The gourd or pumpkin is way wonderful and the containers I want them. That table setting is just a WOW with that sparkle of light you have just out down your self.

Your autumn ideas look refreshingly beautiful. The white squash is just right. Love the sunburst in your last, but most of I’m pleased to hear your back is improving quickly.

Those squash look very similar to ones my aunt grew in her garden. We sliced them rather thin, dipped them in flour then fried them in oil until they were golden brown. Yummy! Have not thought about them in years!
