Autumn tablescape 2012

September 17, 2012 by Barb 15 Comments

I love to host Thanksgiving! All the gorgeous colours and textures are so inspiring!

I love to set a pretty table but I don’t want to spend a lot of money and I try to use what I have on hand. I already had the perfect dishes (I got them at Costco quite a few years ago), so the only things I had to buy for this table setting were the little blocks that say “give thanks”, and the pumpkins.

I was pretty happy with my centrepiece. I used a glass tray that has two ‘levels’ and put the candles on the top level. After I had it arranged, I sprinkled green rocks over everything and added a few willow balls for extra texture.

Can you believe that I found these beautiful wild purple asters growing in the ditch! Love that!

So perfect with the purple dishes…

So much to give thanks for!

Barb, you are my idol! I usually wait until about 2 days (if I’m lucky) before to decide what I’m doing. And, if I had set the table that beautifully, I’d put a drop cloth on it with a sign that reads ‘Off Limits until Thanksgiving’ just so I wouldn’t have to do it over. And I want those dishes!!! Beautiful!

Oh you are so good…I have Thanksgiving every year…but ours ofcourse is in November. Can I borrow your plates & bowls…they would look equally nice on my table. Love the decor, all the mix and match is wonderful. So much to see, your guests will be delighted.

Looks great! Now I’m ready for a turkey dinner. Is that what you serve in Canada on Thanksgiving? I love your dishes and that you like to mix up the colors.

Your Thanksgiving setup is fantastic. We are getting ready for Thanksgiving at our cottage on the lake. I’m sorry I haven’t been by for a visit lately it’s been kind of busy! I’ve been busy setting up my photography business. I’ve taken a big step in setting up my own website and would love your feedback. You can find my site at http://rossmccreeryphotography.com
