Autumn Photography

This tenacious little Amur Maple sits at one corner of our house, underneath a window.

Two years ago, it got so big and unwieldy that I cut it right to the ground. I did say sorry while I was doing it though…

It must have forgiven me, because it has come right back and its beautiful fiery orange, red, and yellow leaves are gracing our yard once again.

Just one of those perfect autumn moments…

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I can’t get over the delicious golden tones in your neck of the woods! Our colors, except for the dogwood, seem to be coming in slowly this year, more moisture than usual. But I’m certainly enjoying yours!

I smiled when you wrote you were apologizing to your tree! Love your middle photo (and thank you for your kind, empathetic words about the loss of our dog, he was my first ever dog and I’m struggling after having 14 years with him). Renee

Oh my goodness, what a stunningly beautiful maple and photos! In Texas we planted a red maple one year before we moved to Louisiana and I often wonder how big it is now. Love any kind of maple!

I have loved reading about your trip Barb ~ I know I am late to the party! Your fall shots are gorgeous ~ lots of yellow there this year too ~ it is more colourful here this year but we still have lots of green too. I think it is the crazy up and down weather we have been having yet some trees are naked! I feel I typed that somewhere before so forgive me if I am repeating myself. Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving ~ have a good weekend,
