Tomorrow is August 1st. I know you know that, but I had to write it down just to get my head around it.
This is what I did yesterday. I wanted to spend at least one July afternoon sitting on a blanket, on the lawn, flipping through beautiful magazines.
After a light dinner, I walked down to the lake and sat on the dock.
And, because I was alone, I decided to go out for a drive. We live on a lake, but there are little lakes all around us and some of them are so small, but so stunningly beautiful and serene…
… that I could hear these little ducklings twittering softly as momma looked on…
The Phone Photography Project is almost over and I’m surely going to miss it. But when I was reading one of my favourite blogs, I noticed that she is participating in the August Break 2013 with Susannah Conway. It sounds like a good one, so I have exactly one day to decide if I’m going to commit to it. It’s kind of a way to keep blogging through August, without having to write too much. You take a photo based on a prompt, and you post it… or not… sounds perfect…
i really like the sparkles across the water shot!
I can really relate to what the scenery is like where you live. I spend all summer out at our lake and get to take in very similar sites. I could sit with camera in hand for hours! Great shots!
Lovely day, Barb!
You certainly had some gorgeous light available to you yesterday – sounds like a perfectly relaxing day.
What a perfect day…captured so lovingly! I hope you do join the August Break. I’m not going to do it every day but it should be fun.
Where you live sounds so wonderful with the lakes nearby. I’ve not done much in the way of taking a photography outing this summer. Love your first photo and the idea of just taking a day to enjoy the outdoors relaxing, and sounds like you had a nice day.
Happy August…and it came too quickly. The months seem to be flying by.

Such a beautiful selection of photos, Barb! And yes, you definitely have to participate in August Break – it’s such a nice community and no rules :-)
Have a wonderful weekend!
How peaceful…glad you spent at least one day in July sitting on the lawn reading beautiful magazines….Happy August!!
