Week 30: Be Still 52

January 5, 2015 by Barb 15 Comments

I tried not to overthink lesson 30 for Be Still 52. We were to choose some favourite images from 2014 and do something with them, whether we just post on our blog, print, make cards … whatever … it was up to us. I chose to just (re)post them here.

I always liked these images of the silverware, serviettes, and rosemary. So what I took away from this lesson was that I should include more of my vintage silverware in my still life shots.

… ahhh … what I wouldn’t give to be able to go out and pick a modest little flower … however, I do have rosemary since I brought the plant in to overwinter (for the second year!) …

This is my first post since I had my blog re-designed so I’m not sure how the images are going to look … please forgive me if they’re wonky … I’ll be fiddling and fixing for a few days, I’m sure … If you want to see the full design change, click on the “Home” button in the Menu Bar … what do you think?

Don’t forget that “app” happy wednesday starts up again on January 7th! yay! and will continue on a weekly basis … yay again!

Thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful day!

The vintage silverware does give the shots a pop. How can one go wrong adding silver to anything, right? I like your new design…..simple and elegant….

Really love your old silverware tied with the rosemary…something so attractive about old silver, linen, string, and soft green. Lovely and yes, so elegant! Your new blog design is fresh and airy …. so nice to stop by for a “be still” moment. Lovely!!

The new blog is lovely – as are the photos you shared today. and don’t hate me, but I live in Georgia, and my rosemary – all three bushes! – is going strong outside… it’s one of my favorite things about my yard! I think I need to get out some silver and linen (and maybe cook?!) and take some photos to remember it by! Thank you for the inspiration – as always! – Barb!

I love the look of the silverware and napkin tied with twine- I even bought twine to try this, but haven’t done it yet. Adding the rosemary makes it perfect! Both photos are beautiful and have the real Barb style- great choice! The blog looks great! Looking forward to getting back into app-happy Wednesday again! Happy New Year!

Very nice composition. I have had a look through your photos and see so many I like. I am just starting Be Still 52 and I actually do not do still life – hence the challenge in it for me! Your work is very inspiring for me.

Love your blog…and love your vintage silver. You have inspired me to dig out my mother’s, and mother in law’s silverware but I still will never be able to style them as beautifully as you always do:)

It’s hard to pick a favorite shot. I’ve gone through my mobile shots but not my others. I still want to ho through last year’s blog posts… I didn’t realize you were going back to weekly on App Happy, that’s great!
