I think I may have become so accustomed to playing with iPhoneography that it has spilled over into my TT creations. I’m also working on a tiny laptop with questionable monitor colours. So I guess I’m asking you to forgive me if my image looks a bit, shall we say, different today.
Oh good heavens! I need to get over it – I’m just having fun! We’ve been suffering through dangerously cold temperatures with ghastly wind chills on top of it, so if I want to go a bit wild on my Tucson doors, I guess that’s what I have to do.
When I added Kim’s “cherishedscripted” texture with the “Hue” blend mode, something magical happened. Hover your cursor over the image to see the “before” photo and you’ll see what I mean.
Here’s the texture I used:
I also ran a couple Photoshop filters to simultaneously sharpen and blur the photo.
I know spring is around the corner, at least that’s what the calendar tells me. And that’s what the stores are telling me too. They are overflowing with colourful capris, and t-shirts, and light jackets, and I’d be lying if I said I had resisted the urge to pick up a “few” new things … it’s a form of dreaming, I guess.
So what about you? Are you caught in the vise grip of winter too? or are you enjoying spring? Do tell!
Texture Tuesday at Kim Klassen dot com
that was magical! I loved the colors and the composition over in the group (texture tuesday) – the image just “stood out”…
LOVE IT!!!
Using new blending modes with a texture is exciting to see what fun changes transpire! This one is perfect with that texture.
it is different, but i like it. rather like a painting!
I love what you’ve done…so pretty! And spring seems so far, far away…
barb i love the warm, vibrant colors of this! beautifully shot and processed!
The colors are great! So is the image! I have enjoyed all of your Tucson doors.
We are having cold temperatures today. I am done with winter and wondering if spring forgot about us.
This is gorgeous and truly magical!
Love the texture you used. It works great with your photo.
Oh, i love it! It gives the image a golden glow – beautiful!
The texture is so pretty!! But I must admit, I absolutely love the original, too. :)
Barb,
Isnt’ it amazing what a texture can do to a photo? It can change the entire mood. I love Kim’s textures and she is so generous with them. I have a ton.
You did a wonderful transformation of an already lovely photo!

Barb, this is a beautiful edit! No need to make excuses, it’s just lovely. And one can never see too many Barrio doors. Yes, we got a big dose of Winter Storm Titan. Tomorrow will be snow day #3 for this week. I think we’re up to 13 or 14 for the winter. Let’s hang in there, we’ll make it till spring.
Oh what a delight to see a scene we saw together…and love what that texture and editing did to that image. Stay safe in your frigid cold. And I just know Spring will come (eventually)!!
That really did do some great fun things to this, love the angle you got to this Barb, I didn’t go inside like you all did. Now I wish I hadn’t stayed outside but gone inside. Such a wonderful edit.
Wow – that is magical! And the photo brings back wonderful memories of the time I lived in Tucson (a long time ago now!).
A beautiful picture
That is wonderful it speaks to me of sunshine and light what we could all do with at the moment…
Love this! You’re right when you say the texture did magical things to it. It almost glows! I can never see enough Barrio doors and they bring back such sweet memories of that wonderful day. Hang in there (I know, easy for me to say!) and spring will come and I’ll be whining about our heat!
This is really gorgeous, Barb!
I love the perspective you chose, and the colors are amazing.
Beautifully done.
Happy day to you!
Barb… don’t you just love when magic happens?
such a BEAUTIFUL image….
everything you do….is stunning!!
i’m over the winter….. the wind…the snow… the cold…. it’s got to go…..
just had another big dump of snow today…and they say there’s more to come overnight!? seriously….
Okay… enough of my whining….
have a beautiful rest of the week.
xo
love the extra color pop!
This is a beautiful summery photo….before AND after; it looks like somewhere I’d like to visit.
The weather around the world seems to have gone crazy……in the Midlands, UK, we seemed to have missed winter this year. Not a flake of snow….most unusual.
But of course, there is still time ;-)
I love it!
