Texture Tuesday – The Dream It Edition

August 21, 2012 by Barb 22 Comments

We just returned from a road trip through Saskatchewan. Hubby and I are both from that beautiful province and we still have family there.

I simply love taking this road trip in the summer. Especially in August when the sun is hot, the sky is blue and the fields are starting to ripen.

I can’t begin to describe the light – it is hazy, soft, and it spreads right through my soul, stirring up memories like birds in the sky.

When travellers pass through across our great plain,
They all view our home, they all say the same:
“It’s simple and flat!” They’ve not learned to see,
The particular beauty that’s now part of me.

My husband loves Saskatchewan, probably the flatness and the fact you can see for miles and miles. Love the first photo today.

Oh your plains reminds me of the land here in Illinois. Something peaceful and calming about the land. Beautiful captures and I love the picture of the birds flying over-head. I had chills!!

The golden fields shot is amazing. You really get a sense of the expanse of land here. Not that I didn’t enjoy the other shots, but this one really grabbed me. :)

I love seeing the fields of grain. The scenery reminds me a bit of North Dakota, where my dad is from :)

Fantastic shots! I’m living in Regina, Saskatchewan so I know this scenery well. What part of Saskatchewan is your family from?
