Welcome to Sunday Sundries!
I’ve been watching one of my succulents since early February as it began to send out a flower stalk. This week it started blooming, and surely that is something to celebrate wouldn’t you say?
Of course it speaks to me of spring, but I won’t be putting any plants out until May … the middle of May … OK, maybe late May. But, not to worry, I brought my wooden side table in from the deck, set it by the window in the kitchen/dining room and filled it with plants. The sun was pouring in and it was a beautiful sight.

So what else am I celebrating?
- The memory of a good friend and neighbour. A gentle, honest, soul. Loved and respected by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
- Receiving a gift in the mail from an online friend. Such a wonderful and inspiring surprise.
- Getting lots more hours of daylight (I’ll be celebrating that for a few more weeks).

so very pretty!
(i’m happy that MAYBE 3x snow/ice/sleet is enough for one week and now on to march!)
I agree, Theresa!
You have the most beautiful succulents and I love the bloom! The light pouring in the window is wonderful. Thank you for sharing your celebrations! Enjoy the coming of Spring and more light!
Your succulents are gorgeous. Love both edits.
We are celebrating about 6 whole inches of snow. And frost. It’s so cold it’ll stay on the trees long enough for me to get out a take photos today. Yippie! The thing I miss about living up north is the long period of time of ‘rest from yard work’. We have about two months break down here otherwise there is always something to do out there.
Wow Barb, that is one special plant! And I thought my orchids took a long time to bloom from spike to actual bloom??
It surely was worth the wait. Such pretty little flowers.
LOVE the light you found ! The flowers are really pretty and so nice to see when all around is dull and grey :)
These posts always make me smile. I love seeing how the different textures really change the image. …and hearing about the good things in your week!
I am soooo with you on celebrating the arrival of an extra hour of daylight in the afternoon! Bring it on!
Just so lovely Barb. Honestly you get the very best light. I ve been here twice now.. and got taken away with your gift. Just beautiful work there also. . You are a inspiration.
It looks like spring in your images, such beautiful light and pretty flowers!
