Sunday Series 52: Week 2

August 29, 2011 by Barb 13 Comments

This week Nancy at ‘A Rural Journal’ challenged us to photograph three images related to ‘mail’. I have picked up mail at this mailbox for ten years but since we get most of our mail via e-post, the volume has dwindled to the point where I even forget to check for it. Today when I went there to get these shots I came home and realized that hadn’t even looked in the box to see if there was anything in it!

Love this old mailbox, Barb. The color, the rust — it looks like it’s been around awhile. :)

Thanks for joining in at SS 52 this week. So glad to see you there!

Beautiful shots. It’s sad that we don’t get “real” mail any longer. I miss holding a letter in my hand.

Nice photo story. Strange how our view of the mail box is changing. I love receiving mail in both my mailboxes – electronic and physical.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my blog.

This series is wonderful. We’ve encountered several locks at the Boy and Girls Club (which I thought never closed. It reminds me of those. These would be AMAZING to illustrate a poem or story.
