Wrap vintage silverware with twine and a spring of rosemary for a great addition to any autumn tablescape!
Good morning! I’ll try not to whine too much about our overnight dump of snow … but I did have to mention it, so as to get it out of my system … ugh …
Many of my flowers are mush now … but not my herbs, they’re fine, so I decided to bring a few in and play around with them.
I edited these images in LR, first adjusting exposure, cropping, and then I applied the preset kk_lightly.
For the first two, I added the texture kk_leslie, at soft light (65%) which warmed them up …
The following set has just the preset with no added texture, which left them cooler …
I can’t decide which I like best! Usually I prefer the cooler tones but this time … it may be a tie! What do you think?
kk_lightly only:

Barb!!!
oh my gosh… i thought of you yesterday….
and sighed a sad sigh about the freaking snow….
you know I could feel it in the air here! what the heck???
you deserve to have a little whine…. I can’t believe the weather…it’s crazy-ness……
the only plus snow will bring for me…is covering our disastrous yard. : )
hoping it melts and we have lots of warmth in store….
now onto your GORGEOUS photos… where do i start?
I love them all…..I loved scrolling down to the final photo….. I gasped….. relaly sooo very lovely….
have a beautiful day….. do something special for yourself…. (a little compensation for the you know what…outside)….
xo
really need to check my spelling… : ) next time…xo
So hard to imagine snow already. Tho, I’m really looking forward to some cooler temps. We’re still really hot in Georgia.
Lovely shots, Barb!
Wow, you still have snow?! Like Dina, we’re looking forward to the cooler temps. It’s so hot and humid where we are right now.
I wouldn’t mind a dump of snow to get rid of this heat and humidity! I think you’re right. It’s pretty much a draw fro me. I keep scrolling back up and down and really loved them all. I’m leaning just a little bit toward the cooler tones.
I am not going to say anything about the “S” word, but the “E” word is awesome. Editing in LR. I like the warm ones myself but that is just a personal preference and either is a winner.
Oh my Barb! What inspiration you’ve supplied here today. What do I think? I think every single one is stunning! Honestly, I can’t pick a favorite! Your processing, composition and “dainty-ness” that you add to your photos makes it impossible to choose.
On another note………sorry about the “white stuff”. I don’t think any of us are QUITE ready for that just yet! But it’s a reminder to me to start bringing my plants back indoors and what herbs I want to try to winter over as well.
Thanks for sharing your talent!
Oh my, snow already, Barb ! :-(
Love all your photos, but the cooler ones are just wonderful …
and that silverware is gorgeous !
Have a nice week,
Sylvia
they’re all beautiful! i had read another canadian’s post about snow this morning and almost thought he was joshing…
Barb, Your pictures today are some of my very favorites of all time. I love the warmer tones and your second picture is truly perfection. The photo makes me want to sit down and enjoy my dinner this evening – adding special little touches – and celebrating that every meal is a blessing. I am excited about your newsletter and will sign up NOW!
It’s always okay to whine about snow – especially snow in September. Love your images, both the warm and cool tones. Love that you’re photographing herbs – such a great idea. I love the twine and linen too. So lovely!
I’m going to sign-up for your newsletter!
Barb, I’m simply swooning over these silverware wraps! I hope you are starting a photography tabletop book, because these must be in it, and I will be buying it. LOVELY, gorgeous, and so inspiring! I love silverware, and cute table dressings … such a great idea to add the herbs tied with twine. I just signed up for your newsletter, and look forward to your weekly notes! Thank you so much for this lovely post today. Sigh!!!
Love love love, prefer the warm tho. Sorry about that white stuff. I hate it. there, I said it.
I LOVE them all Barb, so beautiful ! The compositions are fabulous ! Sorry about the snow……omigosh that is SO early !
I couldn’t decide which I loved most either.warmer or cooler…all of them so very perfect!
Barb, I love what you’ve done with everyone of these, even the “wabi-sabi” sunflower. If I had to pick a fave, it would probably the first two images. I guess I like the little bit of warmth. The herbs are a nice touch.
Lovely series of still lifes! I think I prefer the warmer tones of the first two. I also prefer not to have snow!! Hope it all melts soon and we have plenty of mild weather still to come.
So much prettiness Barb I love all of them. And snow really !
Snow? Really? Oh my. I’m ready for that (which we’ll likely not see), but I know you’re not.
A newsletter and RSS changes? I guess I have missed some things while I was on a break.
Your images are so beautiful and well-composed.
