I had just stepped outside to water some flowers and noticed this little fella standing in the grass, frozen like a statue. I slipped back into the house, grabbed my camera and silently crept back outside and started to take some shots. It wasn’t long before he made a dash for the bushes and I felt quite lucky to have captured this. I wonder if he is related to this “Proud Bird“.

Haven’t ever seen one of these, but he sure is spectacular…hopped over to your earlier pic and it is gorgeous too.
Thanks for visiting my blog. To answer your question about the area of that monument: It is in Southern Utah, right by Saint George. Have you heard of the Tuacahn Amphitheater? It is on the road to that, shortly before the turn off to Snow Canyon. I will be posting pictures of that area next.
Oh wow…how neat!! Interesting for sure.
Hope your day is blessed♥

Beautiful. I guess the closest type bird we have is the quail.
This is a fabulous capture. Especially because the grouse should blend in with his surrounds.
Congrats on this capture – timing is everything!
Soo beautiful, great capture!
A great experience! Your stealth skills must be something to slip back in and then out of the house and still get the picture. Amazing!
