Lightroom Preset Play with Ranunculus

April 21, 2015 by Barb 15 Comments

Applying a Lightroom preset to ranunculus (or any photo for that matter) is like watching magic unfold.

While I still love original images, I adore the rumpled and dreamy edits.

Kim has a wonderful demonstration on her blog today … she’s amazing … and it looks like she’s going to offer her presets for sale!! Right now they’re available only through The Studio|Online, so this is pretty exciting news!

After the shot has been made there is still so many more creative options to explore, Kim’s presets add to that creativity. You have found some winners here. All beautiful!

Wow, these are all incredible, but I do think the last one is my favorite – love the composition, the table, and the border around the two sides! Very eye catching.

These are all beautiful! For some reason, I’ve not found any ranunculus anywhere, so sad. So I’ll have to enjoy yours! Thanks for sharing them.

A bit too early for them here, but I am watching for them.
Each one of these is so beautiful.

Barb, My favorite is the last photo – the vibrancy is stunning and the detail of the flower petals is crisp yet the focus is varied which gives a lot more interest. These top down images with a tall arrangement of flowers in a vase can be a little tricky – how to best adjust settings to give a wider depth of field but not so wide as to have everything perfectly focused. You’ve got this spot on! I can imagine the card from AU! I love every one of their products. Have you tried their new EveryDay cards? You can get a set of cards – each with a Different image (unlike many places where you can only get 10 or 20 of the SAME image). I keep ordering these and sending lots of notes to friends!

Barb. you’ve done a terrific job on this series. I agree about the excitement of presets – so simple….one touch and voila! I think I like the image using “dreamlike” the best. It’s so dramatic.
