Caution! geek post alert!
I discovered this neat site, InstaBG that generates a cool image of an Instagram feed. It’s so simple to create, I just signed in with my Twitter account, and let InstBG access my images in Instagram. Seconds later, I had a snapshot to use as my background. How cool is that?! I first saw it on my daughter’s Twitter page, and I knew I needed to have one too!
Well, I took it one step further and I am also using it as my Google+ header. Many of you will know that the Google+ header is ginormous, so ginormous, that at first I decided not to put anything on it… until now. This background works because the images are so tiny, and it kind of balances the ginormity of it all… is that even a word?
Next, I went on to optimize my Google+ header, following this great advice from Ann Drake at On Sutton Place. Make sure you scroll down and read comment #8 by Stephan Hovnanian, before you decide on what to name your header. He hadn’t left that comment when I was naming my header, or I might have done it differently. I’m not going to bother now, sometimes, things are better just left the way they are.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Yes you are right geek, you are more geek than me. I love geek but only if I understand it and a lot here I didn’t understand. I am on Instangram, haven’t been there in ages, with an iphone 4 it isn’t great taking images, sitting here waiting for next Tuesday and the announcement from Apple. Maybe I will get back into it after I get the new phone, not on Twitter, I am on Google + but haven’t done anything with it. Yours does look nice not sure if I want to keep up with something else but yours does look really nice. Since my husband died I don’t have a full time residence to help me with techie stuff it is getting harder to keep up. My son in law is the next best thing but I only go to him when it I am in dire need as he has a life. :)
THIS IS A VERY COOL IDEA!
I need to try that. Thanks again Barb
Oh how cool! I don’t tweet but I guess I need an excuse. If this is the only way I can get this, well so be it.
I love it. Had to come and see whats new here. . I dont get your updates on my blogger so I m going to try and add your feed again. I have you under bloggers on G+ also.
Happy Sunday
Ok, geek question here…how did you get your image to use for Google+? Did you have to screen shot it and make one big image?
Jo
Hi Jo, I just right-clicked and saved it to the desktop as a jpeg.
