Go Your Own Way

I am loving the way this hyacinth is behaving. Very unruly, wouldn’t you say?

Do you ever struggle with what your blog is about?

Some days I act like a food blogger, some days I act like a diy and home decor blogger, and some days I act like a photography blogger, and then I’m an art blogger, and on and on…

My “other” life revolves around Photoshop and scrapbooking, which I don’t feel comfortable sharing here. Not just because of privacy, but because I don’t think this is the right audience for it.

I’ve slowly been categorizing my blog posts so that I can take advantage of the drop-down menu here in WordPress. I think that’s what has me wondering about all of this. I look at a post and think “what the …. is this about?”

I’m having blog angst…

Thank you for dropping by, and please join the fun over at the cafe today!

Well, whatever you post about, I always enjoy it. I like the variety. My blog seems like a broken record, however. :/ I guess we all go thru blog angst from time to time. Your photo today is so beautiful.

I love how you did the mouse-over, Barb. Lovely image!
I can relate to your post – my little ole blog is kind of a jack-of-all-trades. There is no way I could put a label on it. I have tried a couple times to go with one specific subject to try to develop my own niche. (Because I’ve read that bloggers should find the one thing they are interested in and go with that as the main theme of their blog) I quickly learned that it became boring and I lost interest in blogging.
So, I dumped that idea and do what I enjoy, even if it is about a different subject every blog post. :)

LOL…I am constantly battling ‘blog angst’ and often don’t know what direction I’m going in. I started out specifically to highlight my photos but felt I needed to write something. And sometimes I think I’m writing too much. Oh, the agony of it all!!! Right now there is a need in my life to pare everything down and I’m working on a blog post just for that. Looking forward to the day when I have it all together!

PS – I’m trying to decide which photo I prefer but both are so beautiful. That green popping off the white does it for me big time!

Great post, Barb! I absolutely love your image.
I think at some point we all go through blog angst. I consider mine as a photo blog, but even with that I constantly struggle with the thought that maybe I should focus on one particular style of photography, maybe someday I will :)

What a wonderful post. And your photo is gorgeous.. I used to have two separate blogs, one for photography and one for my crafting. I couldn’t keep up.. So know I do it all on one blog.. Seems to be working out. But I definitely know what you mean by not pleasing your who audience..

    Hugs~

I think I understand almost exactly how you feel except I am not a food blogger at all–

I am a good cook but I hardly cook any more. So……….I have to stick with what I do.

And the problem is I probably spread myself to thin at times because I love so many different things.

Anyway, your photograph is lovely and the edit is perfect imho.

the one I photographed did the very same thing, but I loved it also. So stunning in white. I ended having to put mine outside because of my allergies, It was driving my nose crazy, so hate that because I do love the smell.

I say say cheers to those of us who are passionate about a lot of things! I really enjoy your blog because of the diversity. Why do we all have to play be the same rules?

This photo is so beautiful Barb!! I do agree about blogging…and I end up with a short post – never feel comfortable sharing about all my life…I tend to go with “just the facts, maam, just the facts”….maybe boring to some. It is simply an easy way to post, and share a little beauty, and then go hopping off to other blogs to get a glimpse of something on the other side of the world. :)

Did you mention scrapbooking? Oh, you need to post about that.I’m always struggling to find blogs that have scrapbooking in them. Usually, I’m looking for ideas for 2 page layouts. I’ve been scrapbooking for 20 years and I’m running out of ideas. I’d like to see what you have come up with.
