Friday Finds: More Barn Wood Inspiration

June 13, 2014 by Barb

I simply cannot explain how lovely it is to have a little barn wood-inspired garden right on my deck!

After I finished all the hard work of setting it up, here’s the view as I sit and sip my tea …

Meet my new side table. My perfect little garden on the deck.

I mean, a girl cannot have too many places to put her plants, can she?

Barn wood. I simply cannot resist it. I won’t even tell you how many pieces I’ve collected, but I’ve put each and every one of them to good use.

But really, all you need is just one piece, with two shelves if possible … and it doesn’t even have to be barn wood. I’ve found that having a little garden right on my deck has inspired me in so many ways. Not only do I have my herbs close at hand, but it also saves them from the (cute), but hungry little bunnies that are constantly nibbling away in my big garden.

I love barn wood too, I think because I love old barns. That calm cup is great and I really LOVE the metal bowl!

Your barn wood is beautiful, love the color and texture. What a great photo prop and a girl could never have too many places to put plants. Your succulent looks so cute in the ladle, I am going to keep my eye out for one at the flea market. Have fun at the sale, I am sure you will find more great things.

Wow! That barn wood is so wonderful … so rustic, so textured, so full of character. And your lush plants {even the cactus looks lush!} complement it beautifully. {Appreciated your thoughts about the 40mm. I don’t know why I’ve been so negative with it but we just didn’t get off to a good start when I got it a couple of years ago but it’s on my camera now and I’m determined to keep it there all weekend.} Hope you have a great weekend!

Love, love, love the old barnwood! I’ve been hunting for a similar table and so far am striking out. Love the “calm” cup — is it from Anthropologie? Wish I was there to go to the sale with you! I know you are going to find some treasures and we all will be waiting to see them.

Yes these barn wood pieces are awesome and they weigh a ton! I’m sure you will find one – I’ve seen some spectacular wood pieces in Arizona – made from old doors, windows, etc. In fact I even have a couple at our condo. I found that cute cup at “HomeSense”. I also got dream and breathe if you can believe it!

Absolutley love your new side table. I have lots of old barn boards at my cabin, and makes me realize that I need to make use of it… You have given me a good idea, and love your view!

Barb, We have very similar taste. The barn wood, I just love it – all that texture and worn color – so perfect in every sense of the word! Love every one of your images today, and your Finds make my heart sing. I’ll keep an eye for a ladle – what a great pot for the succulent. You are so creative! Can’t wait to see next week’s Friday Finds!
