In a few short days our summer will be over. The forecast is for cooler temperatures, and even a few thunder showers. Up until now, we’ve been enjoying one of the warmest and sunniest Septembers ever, and it certainly hasn’t felt like fall.
But every season brings it’s own beauty and excitement. Cooler, crisper days make my thoughts turn to crock pot meals, candles, and pumpkins.
I’m trying to put my autumn mantel together, but it’s been a slow process. I just haven’t been inspired. I’m hoping that a trip to Crate and Barrel tomorrow will fix that! My walking friends have asked me to join them on a shopping trip to the big city, and then for lunch. How fun! This walking gig has turned into so much more than I expected… some mornings it’s hard to get myself out the door but every step has been worth it.
I’m showing up for Texture Tuesday today at Kim Klassen dot com.
Fading Sunflowers: a slow shutter speed, high iso, large aperture, a bit of Photoshop magic, and a couple layers of kk_villa

Isn’t it fun that as photographers we can enjoy fading nature in all it’s glory, to me that is just the best about being a photographer. The light and composition is grand Barb.
Lovely capture of these fading sunflowers, Barb !
Enjoy your shopping trip tomorrow :-)

yes…sunflowers are always the perfect subject!
The composition is beautiful. I think we are all ready for fall….Even though this summer has been wonderful, cooler weather will be nice…..
I feel fall in the air here as well Barb ~ frost on the car windows this morning but it turned into a beautiful day. Love this shot ~ sunflowers hold a special place in my heart and these ones are gorgeous. Enjoy your shopping trip to the big city!
Lovely texture and editing. I think one reason this photo is pleasing is that you got so close in to the flower. The light on the yellow ends of the blooms is so pretty.
