As I put together this post I became more and more confused.
At first I was having a great time! I took a photo, edited it in LR and exported it to PS. Then I added some word art and made a couple more adjustments. No trouble uploading to WP.
Where it started to get complicated was when I tried to turn the word art into a brush, then a .png file. No matter how many times I do it, I still get it messed up… arghhh (and, incredulously, I’m supposed to be teaching people how to do this…)
Then I had to zip them and upload to BOX. That shouldn’t have been a problem but I kept messing up the descriptions and I had to delete everything and start over. Whew. OK, now to create a couple little thumbnails and link them to the download page. Not so very complicated unless you accidentally hit the PUBLISH button instead of update. OH NO!
Have you ever hit the publish button by mistake? Did you know that you have about 5 seconds to revert a post to draft form before it publishes? I’m guessing it must be so, since that’s about how long it took me.
Lastly, just to make sure that the original post wasn’t floating out in cyberspace with unfinished business, I copied the HTML and created a new post and then deleted the original.
They say that as you (ahem, get older), you should exercise your brain to keep it sharp, but I’m starting to wonder. This little exercise left me feeling a little unnerved… but I finally did get it together and that’s what counts, I guess.
Anyway, this quote (by Erich Fromm) speaks to me, and I wanted to share it. I’m never sure if something I create is “right”. Well, what is right?
The word art is a brush in .abr format, which can be used in Photoshop Elements, or Photoshop.
Simply click on the graphic above to download. If you have any questions/problems please ask them in the comment section so others can read them and perhaps find help too.

Sometimes, something that is meant to be easy and quick becomes complicated and slow…however, the end result? well worth it. I love how this photos look now compared to when it was taken. What a difference and this is so soft and subtle!
my creative brain goes bye bye with the heat of summer, i think. :)
One of those days Barb :)
you mentioned quotes on Google Plus … here’s one I like… One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain – Bob Marley
Cheers,
Sue
Sue, I’ll store that one away for the future! Thank you!!
That’s a very interesting quote – thanks for sharing it. I really love the composition of this photo and especially those gorgeous muted colours – the whole thing just speaks a gentle delicate to me. Renee.
Despite the difficulties you put up a beautiful post :)
Love both the before and after image!!! Thanks for sharing this Barb!
What a difference between your original and the edited one. BEAUTIFUL!! Frameable too! You mention quotes and here’s one I used recently, it had no author mentioned…….”To wish you were someone else is to waste the person you are.”
Thank you for the quote, Cheryl! I’m making a master list! :)
Beautiful edit. I have days like that sometimes…and have let my mistakes loose in cyberspace! Great quote and I love the soft tones of your final image.
