Chickadee dee dee

October 24, 2011 by Barb 48 Comments

Don’t you just love that little ‘chickadee-dee-dee’ song? As the weather changes and all the summer birds have gone south, who is left but our faithful little chickadees? I don’t think they make any less or any more noise than they do all summer – it’s just that they are about the only birds at the feeder right now.

Hubby is the bird man around here. He makes sure they have seeds and suet all winter long and I think they love him for it. I know I do.

This is wonderful…I love the little chickadees, but the ones around here are so skittish, I don’t think I could ever get one to land on my hand. Great capture!!

I’m in love. I say “chickadee dee dee” over and over all day long sometimes. they are my constant companion, never mind the season or time of day. they wake me in the morning and put me to sleep at times. I love this bird, and your photos are extraordinary. thanks for capturing this little guy and elevating him to where he belongs – within reach!!! happy day to you Barb. this was pure pleasure.

Hubs is so serious! It must take great concentration to call in the birds. These are great photographs, wonderful to see. I think one of the great things humans do is to maintain their bird feeders and put up bird houses.
