Wild clematis and Google + adventures

June 18, 2012 by Barb 12 Comments

There is a wild clematis vine growing in the bushes at the front of our house. Ten years ago I remember seeing one or two blossoms on it. This year there were probably more than fifty! I find them very fascinating. This one is on it’s way to going to seed.

I’m (trying) to join in with Rosie at LeavesnBloomStudio on Google +. She is starting a circle for this meme and I want to play. Trouble is, I don’t have a clue what I’m doing . . . so I e-mailed Rosie and she is walking me through the process. She is a treasure! and has helped me with other things (wrestling with fb, for one thing).

I tell you, I am floundering here . . . but I’m determined . . . hope Rosie can stick with me . . .

I am totally boggled by google+. It is a mystery to me. I keep getting added to circles and I have no idea what that means! Love the subtle tones in the leaves of the clematis. Now THAT I understand :)

Oh you’re too kind Barb. Thankyou so much for joining in today and I think I’ve managed my first day of submissions to the G+ ColorMe Weekly page ok. But it will take time – lots of time to get much interest on that page.

G + is a sharp learning curve but the most amazing place for photographers once you figure a few things out about the place.

I’ve discovered that there is little interaction when it’s all blog posts …..that’s all I used to do. The photography community want us to post photographs there – a bit like flickr. I also add my shop url and my blog post url to some of the posts – but always make sure that it’s the photo that takes centre stage so that when the viewer clicks on the post the photo shows in the large lightbox.

I do find it hard just now keeping up with the circles – I think over 100 have added me today alone – and I’ve hardly got time to check their profiles – so it can be quite time consuming at first.

I think I’ll do some blog posts on the subject. :)……..time permitting.

I love those clematis seedheads – especially as they get older and get even fluffier with a sprinkling of frost. Lovely fresh colours in your palette aswell.

    Beautiful greens…lovely in every way.

I have no idea about Google + or circles or any of that either. I’m okay with floundering in learning about all the new technology. Pinterest? Facebook? Uh, I may be the only one left who hasn’t joined the bandwagon. :)
