Vintage Kitchen Blues

February 24, 2015 by Barb 12 Comments

My vintage kitchen blues: my Mom’s cookbooks, a couple of  tea towels, a ladle and a blue Medalta bowl. Processed in LR using kk_within.Vintage Kitchen Blues

I’m loving Kim’s new guidelines for Texture Tuesday! Texture is now texture, whether it’s an overlay, a preset, or texture in an image … woot yay! I’ve become so enthralled with presets it’s almost all I use anymore. BUT today I added one (very light) layer of kk_touch-a just because …

Update: I got my postcards mailed – I’m so stinkin’ proud! and excited to receive six pieces of amazing art in the mail from people all over the world!

Love the blue theme, and your mom’s old cookbooks! These colors are very refreshing to see.

Barb, I love this collection of cooking treasures – and the preset enhances the texture of the elements in the photograph. Beautiful work! I just picked up a vintage recipe box full of recipes written on aged index cards, recipes clipped from old magazines and food boxes (think Vanilla wafers and Banana pudding) – for only 75 cents. Can’t wait to use them in a photo – and tell a story of the foods that have meaning for my family. Your picture will be my inspiration!

Wonderful. I love the square grid of the background towel and the diagonal placement of the items. Nicely done.

Hi Barb! I totally agree with Earl, I was struck at first sight by the so much graphic design of your composition, the grid made by the towel design and the ladle and striped towel set in diagonal… such efficacy and cleverness!… I love the effect it creates, great simplicity but also a sort of vintage wabi-sabi style…. great props with a story, love your enamel ladle…
