Texture Tuesday: Heavenly Hydrangea

April 29, 2014 by Barb 34 Comments

Today I have two treasures to share with you. First up is the Ball Jar, found while browsing antique stores in Prescott, AZ with three of my blogging friends: Melinda, Terri, and Barbara.

It was Terri who alerted us to the jars. She collects them and even knows the dates they were manufactured according to the typeface used for the logo. I figure this one was made sometime between 1910 – 1923.

Second up is the hydrangea. It was so dreamy I couldn’t decide whether I liked it in the Ball jar, or just a plain old white vase, so I went crazy and posted both versions today.

Tomorrow I’ll be posting my Waterlogue version and what I did to get the results I wanted.

BTW, don’t forget that “app” happy wednesday is tomorrow and I really hope to see you there! It’s a fun place to share your photos edited with apps and maybe learn a few tips and tricks from fellow bloggers.

Check it out here: “app” happy wednesday.

Have a wonderful day!

So so beautiful! The pale hydrangea looks great in both the vase and jar, but my favorite is always the mason jar.

That color of the hydrangea’s is the prettiest I’ve seen in a long time. Very dreamy. And who doesn’t need Ball jars in the collection of photo props!? Happy Tuesday Barb!

Each one of these shots is just gorgeous Barb, but I think my favorite is the first. Love that ball jar, it is very special. I don’t really know much about their antique value, but do love the look of it, and bought my self a ball jar a year ago during one of Kim’s classes. Great shots

Ahhhh! {{ Hydrangea Love }} I have it, too. Both vases are lovely but I’ve got this thing right now for mason jars, especially blue ones. The contrast is so nice with those lovely hydrangea blossoms.

Oh, they’re all lovely!! I do prefer the jar, just because, like Terri, I’m in love with them!! I can’t wait for my Mom’s hydrangeas to bloom, probably another month!

I have a few of those jars. Use to have some with the lid with the wire anchor, but those sadly went by the wayside when my son decided to clean some things out of the garage. Love the idea of putting the flowers in them. Very nice, and I love hydrangeas. Not familiar with the waterlogue app…will need to check that out. :)

These are all so beautiful! Glad to see the Mason jar featured- I’ve got 3 now, which I think are enough (unless I find one of the really old ones. . .). These edits are all lovely- frameworthy! You are inspiring me to go find some hydrangeas!

Our hydrangeas won’t be in bloom for many weeks yet…..mine are all deep blue and purple; now I crave some delicate baby blues……
