Snow artsy!

December 19, 2011 by Barb 34 Comments

Yesterday we woke up to the most amazing snowfall. I ran around and took over 50 photos but I just could not seem to capture the essence of it. It was magical – soft, quiet and pure. After studying my photos I decided the only thing I could do was add something to try to express how it it felt – I guess that’s art . . . anyway, I added several different combinations of Kim Klassen’s textures ‘more magic’ and ‘wonderful magic stars’ both on screen mode. Kim is giving away twelve different textures and several brushes this month. Head on over to check them out! And if you want to see what all the talented people out there are creating go on over and check out the 12-Day linky party.

I think these might be my most favorite textures so far of her 12 days of texture. I REALLY like what that texture does for your second shot…gorgeous! Looks like you might have a White Christmas! Lucky you!

Oh!! These are ALL so pretty! I have tried to pick a favorite but can’t! I love the sun flare coming through in the middle photo, but they are really all just so lovely and wintery and wonderful. Lucky you, you got SNOW! (I live in San Diego, we don’t get snow here), so I love seeing it in other people’s photos. :)

Very wonderful photos and beautiful use of texture, Barb. :)

I’m not very keen on winter, but at that time of the year I would love to see snow here! World looks so clean and lovely, especially on sunny days.
The third photo makes me feel like going for a nice energetic walk:)

I love them all, but my favorite is the second. you take the ordinary and turn it into magic. snow just makes everything so lovely. you’re getting a lot of it too. I hope you like snow! happy day to you Barb.

I thought the photo textures looked familiar, and then you mentioned Kim’s 12 Days and that’s where I’d seen it. You did a great job with the textures. The snowy photos look fabulous. Nice job!

While i’m sitting here in awe of your use of texture with these photos (you must be one of kim’s star students!) i’m thinking that the photos themselves very much capture the essence of a winter scene – really love your second shot.
