I’ve become fascinated with this “from above” photography.
I find it mysterious. What’s the story here? A handful of seashells, a little sachet of dried lavender, handmade soap, and flowers…
As a matter of fact each item does have a story but that story is most likely meaningful only to me. And yet, when I look at these little vignettes made by strangers, I have the feeling that I’m getting a tiny glimpse into their life and I wonder what it all means. And that’s where I want to be left… wondering.

Beautiful work, Barb! I don’t do much of “from above” PoV, but I think I am going to start. Your photo just gave me an inspiration. Thank you!
This is very nice.
Hmmm, I am going to have to dig out my ladder so I can start taking some “from above” images…..very interesting!!
Oh! I love seashells! And on that rough wood … all that texture … just fabulous!! Like Deanna, I’ve yet to try “from above” … time to get busy.
i like the seashells against the rough wood. very nice!
I know what you mean, Barb. I love the ‘from above’ images I’ve been seeing for months.
I know the feeling too, sometimes when I remember I try to take from above pictures but I always have take ladders:) It really is fascinating.
Love from above photos too, Barb, and this one is really lovely,
wonderful combination and colors !
Nice week,
Sylvia
Great concept! I like a little mystery as well. Lets one’s imagination run wild. Very nice!
All your colors and textured objects work very well on this. Love the tones, and especially the wood floor. Great work Barb!
Lovely vignette! Great variety of textures here – the shells, wood, flowers. I’ll have to try this “from above” idea myself!
I love the mystery evoked by these from above vignettes. Yours is delightful.
I love this “above” technique too. So happy to “meet” you here via Texture Tuesday.
I really like the softness that the flowers add, against the wood. Very nice.
Lovely Barb I can sit and look and make up my stories too. I am also getting a tad addicted to above ….
pretty picture, I can almost smell the photo through the screen……….
love your new design around here! Hope you’re well!
Beautiful work. I’m going to try more from above…you’ve inspired me. I love your words as well. I hadn’t thought about the people who had a hand in creating the items we cherish. I hope our appreciation somehow how finds its way to them. xo
