I can’t believe how fast I went from the lilac party to lavender love … but when I spied these lovely plants at Costco I was thrilled!
I haven’t been able to find this specific type at any of the greenhouses I’ve been haunting. I love the small, slim wands with the tiny flowers.
The scent is beyond words … but even more so when dried (I know because I’ve already dried a few sprigs).
So far I’ve simply photographed the plant like it’s growing in a field that goes on forever, but ideas are spinning around … small bouquets, dried bunches, perhaps even a wand or two …
I want my summer to look like this … lazy, hazy, and dreamy …
Thank you for dropping by, and have a wonderful day!

So very pretty! I have one plant that survived the winter but I haven’t beed able to shoot much of it yet and I better get after it before it’s too late. It’s in a bed at work so I keep forgetting about it.

Such beautiful pictures Barb! Amazing that these lavenders are already blooming…. I’ve a bed of lavender in my garden but they are far from blooming…. I wonder why you wouldn’t consider growing a plant of lavender in your garden Barb, it’s quite easy to grow, even in regions with cold winters… there’s such a summer and hazy mood in your pictures… I’d like to find myself in the middle of a lavender field!

Beautiful, Barb!
Ours are not even close to this yet, bloom-wise, but the plants did survive the winter (surprisingly!), and really look good, so I am hoping for some wonderful blooms.
Have a great weekend!

I miss you! Lavender is such a favorite of mine whether fresh or dried. I lost some over the winter and I need to replace them. Your shots are divine! xx

Your lavender is lovely! We’ve not had much success at growing lavender either. I love that mug with the bits of lavender! Just so pretty.
Donna says
Barb, I love these edits! Sometimes it can be a challenge to photograph lavender so that it doesn’t look like a clump, but you’ve done an outstanding job! Love the hazy, dreamlike version the best!

Lavender is so lovely, and such a boon to the bees. Your photographs are really beautiful.
