Yesterday I spent a lot of time trying to write a post about my word for 2014 and I could not get it done.
I think I know what’s standing in my way, and it’s the fact that I first need to write about my word for 2013 and how it all went down. I may never post it – but I need to get it out of my system.
My word for last year was WORK and it served me well. I had made a commitment and I worked hard all year to fulfill it. Now I’m looking back and reassessing, trying to decide how to approach it this year. I really need to think … .
So today, I decided to simply join in with my friends at Texture Tuesday at Kim Klassen dot com. Kim has suggested we write out a list of 14 things we want to see happen in 2014. That feels like less pressure to me, not so precise, and perhaps it will help me think more clearly. Until then … have a happy and safe New Year’s Eve everyone!!

i cannot pick a word. i wish you luck with yours. :)
I have been pondering Kim’s 14 things as well. Right now it seems like a lot to me for some reason….even though I would like to think I will get at least 14 things done in the next year. LOL
Lovely image – I love that camera! I love that quote too!
Good luck in finding your word. I finally found mine; its funny how when you find your word you just know that it is the right one – there is a happy energy that comes with finding the right one.
Happy New Year’s!
I really like Kim’s idea of the 14 things for this coming year- thanks for sharing it, as I think I need something like this to get me focussed. Another classic photo and poignant quote – thank YOU for continuing to inspire with your stylish creative talent. Renee
Happy New Year, great use of Kim’s lovely texture! I collect old cameras so was drawn to your image :-)
Barb, your honesty is simply wonderful!! The first time I heard of “choosing a word for the year” my mind simply went dead. No way could I come up with one. Then a few years later, and like Sheila says, when one comes “it is a happy energy”. Such a wonderful old camera and photos above, with a great quote…you always inspire me. Wishing you a wonderful Happy New Year! Thank you for sharing.
What a fun image and thanks for sharing Kim’s 14 things info. I had no popped over to her blog yet today. One word does seem a bit daunting, but I figure it is something to strive for, focus on. Happy New Year, Barb…many many wonderfulness come your way in 2014!
Happy New Year to you and yours. Your blog is always one I look forward to reading, x

Much Love and Stay warm.. Im heading back to the couch.. Im sick Darn it.
I’m right there with you, Barb, pondering. This ‘word’ thing hasn’t been a huge success for me. I tend to forget about it come mid-January. There is a word this year that seems to have ‘found’ me but I’m taking in slowly before I commit. Good luck in your quest! And Happy New Year.
I could never get into that one word thing. I kinda like flying by the seat of my pants! :-)
