A glimpse into our Canadian Christmas

December 28, 2011 by Barb 29 Comments

We enjoyed a completely wonderful Christmas this year at the lake. Hubby and I were so excited to host it and we could not be happier with the outcome. Our family of eleven celebrated with the usual gift-giving, eating, visiting, card-playing, and outdoor fun. This year the weather was absolutely fantastic! Temperatures ranged from minus 4C at night to plus 5C during the day which made for a lot of outdoor fun. Skating, tobogganing and hockey were pretty much the order of the day.

I’ve edited all the photos to look like hipstamatic shots. Quite some time ago I followed a tutorial somewhere but I cannot for the life of me remember where it is . . . I know it delved into curves (eek!)  – uncharted territory for me!

Great photos and the weather sounds like it was perfect! We has very cold weather over the week-end but it was nice to have a white Christmas. It was rainy and mild today so most of the snow is gone ~ would love to move right into spring now ~ is that a bad thing??!!

And what a beautiful glimpse it is! It’s so amazing to me that you can actually skate on a lake. That’s one thing I’ve never done. These are really wonderful and I love the edits too.

So WHERE in Canada did you skate on a pond?!

We live in Vancouver so it’s never quite cold enough for pond skating in winter.

Looks like you had a great time. We spent part of Christmas week with some snow on the ground and tobogganed with our grandsons here in SW Ontario. Got to love a Canadian winter (either that or it will kill you)
