Friday Finds: Oregano

August 22, 2014 by Barb 20 Comments

I seem to be drawn to tiny, understated flowers, so when I saw that my oregano was blooming I had to snip a few sprigs to play with.

I think it would make a great bridal bouquet … for an elf …

Friday Finds: Oregano, keeping with the times

The cute font is free and is DJB Jacked Up Kinda Love from our own fontographer, Darcy Baldwin (from Digital Scrapper). You can find her fonts in the shop here, and Darcy can also turn your very own handwriting into a font! Check that out here.

Now that I have my internet back I feel like I am back among the living, the lighting storm we had this week fired my router, ugh. Good thing you weren’t here. It was the worst lighting storm I have ever been in.

I love this oregano, it is a different variety than the one I usually get as the blooms I usually get has blue or lavender blooms. They are pretty little blooms. I do like the font and the shot from above.

I feel your pain!! We lost our router last year to old age and it took Verizon over a week to get us a replacement. It was awful — the whole family was bent out of shape over the forced detox! ; )

That is a very cute font!

The oregano in the bottle is beautiful! The oregano would look great in an elf bouquet. :) Thank you for the font links. I was just thinking yesterday I needed a new font. Have a great weekend!

I so love finding small flowers that one wouldn’t normally think to put in a vase and photograph. I have some autumn clematis about to bloom and already thinking about cutting a piece of the vine to shoot. I love the idea of this being an elf bouquet…it’s adorable and so pretty! Thanks for the info on the font, Barb!

So pretty! So often these tiny flowers are overlooked! I never thought to make a tea with oregano, should try that. I love the elf bouquet idea!

Really delicate and lovely! I like the addition of text- beautifully done! And to add to the complaints- I can’t get google, my Mac Powerbook , and iPhone to talk to each other after I changed my google password. Especially annoying because my husband and I use the Google calendar to keep track of each other’s appointments! Aaaarrrggghhh!

so nice, so refreshing! I’d love to have this plant in a pot but I’ve never seen them in our nurseries here… I only use it dried…. its smell must be very much stronger when fresh…

Beautiful images as always Barb. I didn’t know you could make tea from the oregano leaves! I’ll be trying this! AND…….here’s a question for you…..I THINK I had read that if you are going to use the oregano (dry it and use it), you shouldn’t let it bloom. Do you know anything about that?

This is awesome. They look like they could be related to basil. At least they remind me of them.
