This week I found myself on the way back to Arizona (waiting for our flight which was 3 hours late). We had driven to AZ a couple of weeks prior and then flew home to celebrate Easter with our family. Then we flew back to AZ and in a couple weeks we’ll be driving back home. Make sense?
I took a photo of this (tree) before we went back home for Easter…
… and look at it now! Just over a week later! Where did that come from?
Things move fast in the desert!
This Saguaro was kind enough to dip down low so I could see it up close.
Now, I debated as to whether or not I should include this one. It’s some kind of weird (scary?) growth on a big old Saguaro… hmmm… shiver…
So that’s been my week. I’ve found that the heat has zapped my energy and I haven’t even taken my camera out. Thank goodness for my phone!
How was your week? I hope it was a good one!
It’s amazing how quickly things change. What a wonderful surprise you found. :)
I LOVE your “from where I stand” shot and processing!!! I wonder if that first tree is a Yucca? It reminds me of a bush we once had, same kind of leaves and flowers. It’s beautiful in bloom, and with the sun gleaming through. Have a great time in AZ!!
That is one cool growth on the Saguaro pretty neat actually with all those buds on top. I have two buds coming on one of mine in the backyard, Not as many this year, hope that doesn’t mean something is going on with them.
That first shot tells the whole story in the airport…love it!
Saguaros are one of my favorites. I have never seen them bloom in person. Thank you for showing me!!
Welcome back! Lovely shots- especially nice to see the saguaro in bloom- your Arizona sure looks different from my Arizona! :-)
oh I could do with a bit of heat these days! Still a bit chilly in Chicago. Cool shots!
Great captures, Barb, the blooms are amazing !
Enjoy the weekend,
Sylvia
such beautiful views of az life!
I was just in Arizona myself…totally enthralled with the desert and it’s beauty!
Ahh, you are back…how nice that there are blooms awaiting you, eventho the heat has moved in it must be a welcome relief from the snow and cold.
You’ve found some wonderful desert beauty and some wonderful desert light! Stay cool but enjoy the warmth while you can …
Gorgeous images of the dessert! Love the low down cactus and the strange growth!
Lots of traveling back and forth, but so nice you could get home for Easter. Bad about the delay. I remember always visiting my grandma in Phoenix on our Spring Breaks. 114 degrees is hot, dry heat or not.
That Saguaro is pretty amazing, Barb.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Love hearing and seeing all about your life that seems such an adventure! Your photo makes travel look glamorous – and I hope it was as pleasurable as it looked! Also, what a great idea to host the link-up for apps on Wednesdays. As soon as I get a smart phone, I’ll look forward to joining in!
Lovely dessert shots! What a great flower that just appeared. Hope your weekend is great
These blooms are fantastic… Spring in the dessert!
Love desert shots I can never get enough. Although I agree it does look a bit scary !
Things certainly change fast in the desert. You were there just at the right time. I would love to see the desert in bloom – perhaps one day I will when we no longer have to travel during school breaks.
Great photos….but I especially like the first one (nice bag!). You’re such a busy girl ;-)
That’s a lot of traveling but so well worth it if you can be together with family on a holiday:)
Love the cactus shots!
