Embed a Post from Google +

September 10, 2013 by Barb 3 Comments

You can now embed a post from Google+ into your blog! How fun is that!?

Several days ago, I created this post in Google about my pretty little Maple Leaf Dictionary Page Wreath. To embed it here, I simply clicked on the drop-down arrow in the upper right corner, chose “Embed Post”, copied the code, and pasted it into my blog! It doesn’t display until you preview, or publish your blog post (I was a bit baffled at first because I thought it wasn’t working). *NOTE: after publishing my post, I can see that there is no image showing in Feedly. From what I can tell, that is because the embedded posts are not really on your blog. Next time, I would upload an image first, then publish it (live and learn).

Here’s one of my daughter’s posts:

Too fun! And by the way, this fruit dip is “to die for”… I had to laugh when she said you are going to need a shovel to eat it!

Anyway, this is the “something new” that I learned today. Hope you find it as exciting as I did :)

Pretty neat but the thing I don’t like about doing this that I have noticed it seems it doesn’t work that well with Feedly. It does and it doesn’t. The images don’t show up in the preview window, you have to click further into the blog in order to see the images. Maybe that is good, maybe not so good. For me though it isn’t so good, I like to see If I want to comment before I click further. If you find this not to be true and I am doing something wrong please let me know because it has been frustrating me.

Hi Barbara, I saw that… from what I can tell, the embedded posts are not really on your blog, so there is no photo to publish. Next time I would upload an image first, so that it would show up in Feedly, and Pinterest… same thing… live and learn :)
