Baked Beans Extraordinaire |

- 3 to 4 smokies (cooked, preferably on the barbecue) (the original recipe calls for bacon)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 2 Tbsp molasses
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 1 19 oz can tomatoes
- 1 can kidney beans
- 1 can pork and beans
- 1 can garbanzo beans
- 1 can corn
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt, pepper and tabasco sauce to taste
- Cook smokies on barbecue until done. Cut into small cubes.
- In a large dutch oven, brown ground beef and onion.
- Add smokies and remaining ingredients to the pot.
- Place in oven and bake for 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove the lid for the last half hour if you like a drier and browner result.
