Along the fence

May 8, 2011 by Barb 20 Comments

One day last summer as I was driving home, I was not expecting to see these poppies – there were hundreds of them lining a fence at a local campground and they had never been there in previous years. I was absolutely blown away – I thought they were so cheery and they seemed to be saying ‘come on in and stay a while’.

Beautiful work. They are not so common here but I was just in Italy and there were many road sides full of these. Like we were driving I wanted to stop all the time to shoot them but I was the only one who was interested so we carrie on.

I love the composition – the bold, red poppies against the pale green, and the farm structure in the background! Perfect processing, too!
