5 Fact Friday and what I love

August 31, 2012 by Barb 20 Comments

  1. I love wreaths and I make new wreaths for every season. This year I made a tansy wreath. We have tons of tansy growing in our ditches and even though it is classified as a noxious weed – I love it! It’s so bright and cheery and it dries quite nicely (and smells sweet too).
  2. I made another very different kind of wreath to put inside for my autumn decorating (soon to be revealed) (I love it).
  3. I love autumn. OK, I said it. As soon as September 1st rolls around, I roll out the carpet for fall. It feels like a new beginning to me – even more than a new year.
  4. I love to get up early – excited to start a new, creative day.
  5. Oh, and I love decorative birdhouses – I’m amassing quite a collection . . . I saw a red one the other day at the Country Pumpkin and I wanted it but I didn’t get it. I’m trying not to buy things impulsively. I’ve become a slave to the “if you don’t get it now – it’ might not be there later”. Well, this may be true but I’m experimenting to see if my world falls apart if I don’t get something. I am going to go back next week and look at it. If it’s still there and it’s still calling my name- I may get it.
We are heading into our September long weekend. Looks like the weather is going to be quite nice. We have some work that needs to be done around the yard, but I’m guessing that we are going to be spending some time out on the lake too. I’m also hoping to make some loaves from the zucchini we got last weekend at the U-Pick. That’s another thing I love – fall baking.
Have a happy, happy weekend everyone!

Barb, I feel the same way about Autumn. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one who doesn’t consider Spring or Summer my favorite time of year. Honestly, Autumn and Winter are my favorites. Something about the crisp air and cooler temps just refreshes my soul.

What a beautiful wreath! You are so talented. Fall is my favorite time of the year also. I even named my daughter Autumn because I love it so much. Glad you will have good weather for the Labor Day weekend.

It is a little old, but I LOVE your wreath. I am anxious for fall cooking, but I am trying to remember to enjoy where I am at BBQ.

September does seem like a time of new beginnings–school, cooler temperatures, saying good-bye to the garden. The thing I do miss are the long days of summer.

Love your beautiful wreath. You are a woman of many talents!
