The idea for a journal series actually came to me while we were visiting Emerald Lake (2015) a year ago … ah yes, I’m fast like that ;)
I’d been sitting in the Lodge having a coffee by myself (the hubs was still sleeping blissfully in our little hobbit hole ;) and was trying to express how much I loved the flora and fauna of the area.
I couldn’t find the right background pieces and vowed that if I ever returned to Emerald Lake (which I did) I would have a special journal with me.
So, just before we set out on our travels this year, I made a trip to Chapters Indigo and chose this gorgeous leather journal … I love the simplicity of the closure, and the texture of the pages inside.
I adore this tiny vine that literally turns itself into a wreath:
I love that I can not only record my travels, but I can slip a leaf (or wreath) inside my journal as a reminder of the beauty of the area.
More of the journal series to come … .
The lovely spoon is from Luke at Hope in the Woods
Journal, pen, and coffee cup from Chapters Indigo
Papers from Bella Grace Magazine

I love everything about this, Barb! The journal, the bits of natural materials, the torn-out pages (what a good idea!), the cups of tea and scissors….just everything. Now I want to borrow your idea and do a journal series of my own. Looking at these beautiful photos makes me want to do some still life photography like nothing else has in a while.
