Friday Finds: More Barn Wood Inspiration

After dragging home yet another barn wood piece and setting it up on the deck, here’s my view as I sit and sip my tea.

Meet my new side table.

I mean, a girl cannot have too many places to put her plants, can she?

Barn wood. I simply cannot resist it. I won’t even tell you how many pieces I’ve collected, but I’ve put each and every one of them to good use (even the ones I’ve given away).

You may have met my potting bench a few (ahem) times. I have a whole theme #fromthepottingbench both here on my blog, and on Instagram.

It occurred to me that it could be worse. I could be bringing home stray kittens.

So what exactly did I find this week? The barn wood side table and the little “calm” cup—I’ve seen a few of them around… .

I’ve been waiting all week for tomorrow. It’s our town-wide garage/antique sale where I just know I’m going to find the perfect treasure(s). Next Friday Finds should be interesting…

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

  7. Wow! That barn wood is so wonderful … so rustic, so textured, so full of character. And your lush plants {even the cactus looks lush!} complement it beautifully. {Appreciated your thoughts about the 40mm. I don’t know why I’ve been so negative with it but we just didn’t get off to a good start when I got it a couple of years ago but it’s on my camera now and I’m determined to keep it there all weekend.} Hope you have a great weekend!

Love, love, love the old barnwood! I’ve been hunting for a similar table and so far am striking out. Love the “calm” cup — is it from Anthropologie? Wish I was there to go to the sale with you! I know you are going to find some treasures and we all will be waiting to see them.

    • Yes these barn wood pieces are awesome and they weigh a ton! I’m sure you will find one – I’ve seen some spectacular wood pieces in Arizona – made from old doors, windows, etc. In fact I even have a couple at our condo. I found that cute cup at “HomeSense”. I also got dream and breathe if you can believe it!

  16. *sigh* love the wood, the photos and the plants!!

  17. Love the old wood, it makes the perfect table for your wonderful collection of pots/plants! You’ve created such a beautiful spot on your deck!

  18. Wow!!! Your photos are so calming and beautiful. :)

  19. Absolutley love your new side table. I have lots of old barn boards at my cabin, and makes me realize that I need to make use of it… You have given me a good idea, and love your view!

  20. Barb, We have very similar taste. The barn wood, I just love it – all that texture and worn color – so perfect in every sense of the word! Love every one of your images today, and your Finds make my heart sing. I’ll keep an eye for a ladle – what a great pot for the succulent. You are so creative! Can’t wait to see next week’s Friday Finds!

  21. Those are all so gorgeous and your creativity is stunning! These temptations would make my bank account drain, indeed!
